BOARD CHAIR
Fee: £19,000
c36 days per annum

mhs homes is a successful housing provider with 8,000 properties in Medway. The group has a turnover of £45m generated by the core business and its commercial subsidiary.

 

With a cohesive strategic plan in place, a Chair is sought to assist the Board in delivering the vision to be Medway’s leading affordable housing provider, transforming the lives of both customers and communities.

 

Future challenges will centre around securing funding to build new homes, managing the impact that the welfare reforms will have on customers and service transformation to deliver high quality value for money services. The Chair will be the Board champion for equality and diversity.
Candidates will need to demonstrate an understanding of the geographical, political, economic and social context in which mhs homes group operates. You must have proven Board leadership skills and be a strong team player instinctively knowing when to lead and when to use the expertise around the boardroom. The ability to blend commercial thinking with social purpose encapsulates the core of this challenging but rewarding role.

 

Please respond in writing, supported by a CV, no later than the 31st January 2013 explaining how you meet the brief. Initial interviews will be held on 19th March with the intention of an appointment being confirmed by the end of March. Formal appointment will be made at the AGM in July.
