IT Manager

Key Responsibilities: The IT Manager will be responsible for the following activities and will have to demonstrable experience in them, ideally within a Not for Profit environment:

1.Building and maintaining effective senior stakeholder relationships utilising a collaborative working approach and strong stakeholder engagement skills.
2.Managing, leading and building the IT team including support for remote offices in Glasgow, N Ireland and Wellingborough.
3.Conducting strategic planning and execution for IT including business case development.
4.Managing IT operations including, the provision of;
oan effective and efficient IT helpdesk,
obackup & disaster recovery processes,
obudget management and capital planning for IT,
osoftware license management and associated documentation,
oEnsuring appropriate level of security for IT systems, developing and implementing policies and procedures as appropriate
5.Delivering major IT projects using a range of lifecycle techniques and methodologies appropriate to the technologies being deployed.
6.Participating in the larger IT community to ensure full integration
7.Acting as a valued and trusted partner to all business functions and promoting the benefits of the Technology function to the business. Leading and/or participating in IT steering teams.
8.Identifying business needs and working with the organization to identify appropriate technologies to maximise operational efficiency and effectiveness.
9.Analysing, influencing and facilitating to ensure that business needs and effective solutions can be clearly and rapidly defined.
10.Developing and leading an IT training programme for staff including induction.
11.Maintaining stable and efficient operation of the Raiser's Edge database server and software, managing update processes and associated risks, Conducting risk assessment for threats to IT Systems and implementing appropriate mitigation measures.
12.Fulfilling the role of Data Protection Officer and provide data protection advice and training to all users.
13.Maintaining up-to-date technical knowledge and skills and keep abreast of emerging technologies and trends.

Experience:
*Proven experience of building and maintaining senior stakeholder relationships using a collaborative working approach and stakeholder engagement
*Proven experience in a management role including strategic planning and execution, people and financial management
*Proven experience of delivering major IT projects using a range of lifecycle techniques
*Experience of managing IT services and procedures; IT server/PC hardware principles, network configuration and management principles, software configuration control principles, budgeting costing, financial control systems
*Proven project management experience
