IT Project Manager - Prince 2 - ITIL
My client is seeking a competent individual to join them as a Project Manager with at least 10 years of working experience in a commercial environment.
The successful candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and will be able to consult face to face with clients and internal teams throughout a projects lifecycle.
Role and responsibilities
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the ability to plan projects, manage project teams, budgets, create work packages, capture issues, carry out risk assessments and capture out of scope requests following an approved change management process.
Each project will require a smooth transition from Projects into Service operations. The acceptance criteria will include operational acceptance, project document and training for the service desk
You will need to be a confident individual with the ability to manage suppliers, partners, stakeholders and consultants for effective project delivery.
To be considered for this role you need to be able to demonstrate not only your technical knowledge but your ability to inspire, coach and mentor junior members of the team. You need to have the right personality to assess if someone needs a good gee up or an arm around the shoulder.
The right person needs to demonstrate what they have done with workshops how they have influenced and persuaded the stakeholders and showing in detail what their impact was on what they have done within their team. Ideally the Project Manager will be able to show what kind of spend they had, how was it spent, how much of the budget was used, was it over and if it was why?
Ideally the right candidate would be Prince 2 qualified however this isn't a prerequisite. Their line management skills need to include team meetings, coaching, inspiring, motivation and performance management KPI's.
The successful candidate will be customer focused understanding the commercial drivers behind each project and will liaise with customers, sales, and solutions architects, build engineers and Service desk teams to ensure projects are managed within scope tolerances and delivered to customers expectations.
Key Skills and qualifications
* Over 10 years of experience working in a commercially focused Project Management environment
* Experience of business change management
* Some experience of working in a Financial Services environment would be beneficial
