Gravesend Grammar School

Student Support Officer (SSO) - Initially working in Key Stage 5 (Students age 16-18)

Part Time - 3 days per week, term-time only
TDET Band 7, Point 21 - Point 24

Actual Salary: £12,422 - £13,516 (based on 20.5 hrs per week, TTO)
(pro rata to £26,515 - £28,850 for a full-time, all year round post)

Do you have a passion for working with young people? Are you resilient, adaptable and
compassionate? Are you comfortable dealing empathetically with highly vulnerable young people?
Do you have integrity and ability to observe confidentiality?

Previous experience in this role is not necessary, however experience in education, social care,
health, armed forces or the police may be beneficial. The overriding factor must be personality and
attributes that will allow the successful candidate to engage effectively with young people, parents
and teachers.
