We are looking for a candidate who already has experience of managing and motivating staff.
The Senior Financial Accountant provides support to the Group’s Finance Director and has responsibility for the accounting function of two of the Group’s subsidiary companies. Managing a small team, the role also includes working closely with and providing support and feedback to the commercial team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Protect and grow the recurring revenue stream, in conjunction with the commercial team
  • Production of monthly management accounts and reporting to defined deadlines
  • Production and analysis of defined key performance indicators
  • Significantly strengthen the forecasting, planning and analysis functions
  • Develop the control framework within the company
  • Responsibility for the credit control function
  • Supervision of a small book-keeping team, including objective setting
  • Provide support with certain change initiatives, especially with regards cost effectiveness / reduction programmes and suppliers

ROLE:

  • Reviewing monthly sales performance with the commercial team, with particular focus on the performance of the recurring revenue element of turnover and providing feedback and analysis of same
  • Production of monthly management accounts and financial return for onward inclusion in the group’s consolidated report, within the agreed close timetable
  • Produce appropriate monthly variance and trend analysis
  • Work with the finance director to ensure key performance indicators remain appropriate, and produce same with appropriate commentary
  • Creation and production of an appropriate forecasting tool, centred around the recurring revenue element of the business
  • Management of the credit control function to ensure the Company’s debt position is maintained within stated targets
  • Set clear direction and objectives for each direct report

 

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
 

Required

  • Qualified ACA/ACCA or similar
  • Previous experience of teamwork and collaboration
  • People management experience
  • Excellent and up to date knowledge of UK GAAP

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Sage 200 accounting system;
  • Knowledge and experience of UK direct debit operation

WORKING CONDITIONS
The role is based in the Group’s office in London, however it will also include travel to the group’s head office in Maidstone, as required. The Group’s standard office hours are between 9:00am and 17:30pm Monday to Friday, however the jobholder will be required to work additional hours as required, as is normal with a position of this level.
