Health and Safety Officer (Visitor Attractions/Amusements)

Our client requires a H&S Officer to join their team. The Health and Safety Officer will be responsible for the review, development, implementation and monitoring of the Health and Safety management systems, to ensure the safety of staff, visitors and contractors, in line with current health and safety legislation.

You will be responsible for assessing and being critical in reviewing performance in order to understand and improve the H&S. Managing the assets and equipment to ensure they are fit for purpose and that no unacceptable risk is created. Identifying and controlling H&S risks effectively so that the business have the right resource to rectify. Implementing a safe culture, focusing on effective management of H&S.

The Role
*Ensure that all Health & Safety policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to and are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated.
*Ensure the completion and regular review of risk assessments for all work equipment and operations. Ensure that all accidents are documented, investigated and recommended improvements implemented.
*Ensure that safety inspections are carried out, fire drills and fire alarms are correctly reported, safety inspections, risk assessments and lone working procedures are managed and employees are aware of their responsibilities.
*Co-ordinate the development of health & safety policies, systems of work and procedures.
*Ensure full and accurate health and safety and training records are maintained.
*Establish a full programme of documented health & safety inspections, audits and checks.
*Establish a structured programme of health & safety training throughout the company.
*Liaise with external health & safety consultants in the provision of training programmes and health and safety services.
*Manage and devise the agenda for, chair, formulate and distribute minutes for the Health & Safety committee meetings.
*Keep up to date with all aspects of relevant health, safety & welfare at work legislation and communicate relevant changes to the business.
*Provide regular reports to the senior management team and directors on relevant health and safety activities.

Skills and Experience
*Solid understanding of Event H&S, Fire Reform Regs 2015 and ADIPS
*NVQ Level 4 Diploma in spectator safety Management
*Technical member of IOSH
*Relevant experience in a similar role NEBOSH (General Certificate) qualified COSHH Trained
*Provision of advice to managers/supervisors Handling of H&S investigations
*Experience of formulating, implementing and revising H&S policies and procedures
*Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills
*Ability to work in, and adapt to a rapidly changing environment
*Ability to work co-operatively with others to complete tasks and implement process improvements
*Visitor attraction experience would be advantageous
*Large scale event venue experience would be preferred
