Applicants are invited to apply for the above vacancy within the Maintenance Department, based at the Port of Sheerness. This is a shift based role. Role Purpose: To support the Business Unit Manager and Team Leaders in their objectives. Be responsible for ensuring that day to day cleaning and grounds maintenance functions within the given role of the business unit are completed. Operate safely and efficiently, providing operational areas and the port estate an on-time service. This role will include the following responsibilities: -Provide cleaning and grounds maintenance functions and be responsible for a 24 hour, 7 day a week service response at Peel Ports London Medway and associated sites -To complete all types of port wide cleaning, grounds maintenance and environmental works as listed on the Q4 Asset Register -Maintain environmental management process controls of all maintenance site waste -Always work to the Peel Ports Group safe system of work, delivering a safe working culture -Work in conjunction with team members to carry out duties in relation to facilities, infrastructure and associated assets, encompassing various maintenance tasks -Use initiative and provide strategic recommendations to solve problems, deliver solutions and help to drive the department forward -Complete job work orders and input data on the Q4 computerised maintenance system as and when directed -Support team achievement of SLAs and KPIs -Operate plant and machinery as required Applicants interested in this role should ideally possess the following skills and experience: -Health & Safety and Operational awareness -Good verbal communication -Ability to work on own initiative and within a team -Experience and/or demonstrated competences of mechanical cleaning and grounds maintenance procedures, processes and systems -Computer literate in MS, Excel, Word & Outlook -Willingness to develop within the role and possess a target driven attitude -Ability to plan and organise demanding workload -MEWP licence and Plant licences advantageous In return you will receive: -Competitive Salary -Excellent Holiday entitlement -Generous Flexible Benefits Package -Company Pension with matching contributions of up to 10%
