Applicants are invited to apply for the Port Security Officer vacancy within the Operations Department, based at the Port of Sheerness. Role Purpose: To be responsible for the overall delivery of an effective and efficient security provision to the Port of Sheerness. The Port Security Officer will also act as the Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO) for the Port of Sheerness. This role will include the following responsibilities: -Undertake regular security inspections of the port facility to ensure the continuation of appropriate security measures -Review relevant KPIs and Security Incident Reports, and ensure corrective actions are completed -Comply with all ISPS requirements as part of the port's on-going obligations to the Department for Transport -Liaise with security providers and fellow officers to ensure contractual terms are maintained -Communicate with all stakeholders (internal/external) to resolve requirements issues; therefore negotiating, influencing, and handling change / conflict situations -Lead Security Investigations -Co-ordinate implantation of the PFSP with the appropriate company and Ship Security Officer(s) -Manage Security Budget -Use security systems to administer and maintain access control passes Applicants interested in this role should ideally possess the following skills and experience: -Experience of working in a Marine Environment, preferably as a PFSO -Experience within a security enforcement environment is preferred -PFSO Course Certificate is desired -Be security cleared with appropriate vetting (i.e. CTC) -Minimum of GCSE grade C or above in English and Mathematics, or equivalent -A full valid Driving Licence -Able to analyse data and form sound recommendations -Understanding of equality and diversity legislation In return you will receive: -Competitive Salary -Excellent Holiday entitlement -Generous Flexible Benefits Package -Company Pension with matching contributions of up to 10%
