An exciting opportunity to work with Samphire to build on and develop the successful awareness-raising that we have undertaken to date on issues relating to migration, and to take this to the next level. The Community Engagement Coordinator will develop links with local schools and community groups to reach out to young people and migrant families, and provide positive opportunities for mixing with the settled population, valuing the cultures of all. Through myth-busting and community building events, you will contribute to a better informed, more culturally aware and cohesive Dover.  The position is for a fixed term of one year, with the possibility of extension contingent on funding. Job Title: Community Development Coordinator (Dover based) Salary: NJC salary scale points 26-29 (£23,398 - £25,951) pro rata Hours: 18 hours per week (possibility for extension, contingent on funding) About the role: This is a multi-functional role which involves engaging with all elements of the local community in a variety of ways, developing networks, managing and recruiting volunteers, undertaking awareness raising activities including social and conventional media, contributing to policy and advocacy, monitoring and project planning. About you: The successful applicant will be educated to degree level OR have equivalent work experience; You will be energetic, resourceful, self-motivated and an excellent communicator; You will have at least one years&39; experience preferably working in the voluntary sector within a related field - community development, social exclusion, migrants rights or work with similarly marginalised groups; The post requires an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
