SENIOR GARDENER on 20 acre private estate designed by Tom Stuart Smith
We are seeking an experienced & professionally qualified gardener to assist with the upkeep of a large garden designed & planted by Tom Stuart Smith in 2010. The successful candidate with hold at least RHS level 2 (or equivalent), have good plant knowledge & practical horticulture skills. Spraying certificates & a chain saw ticket are an advantage but not essential.
The grounds include hedges & topiary, a glasshouse, extensive herbaceous planting, fruit, vegetable & cut flower beds, orchard, wild flower borders, meadow, formal lawns, parkland & shelterbelt.
The candidate must be familiar with the use & care of a variety of garden machinery.
The Senior Gardener would work as part of a team reporting to the Head Gardener. It is a physically demanding role & requires someone who is happy to be working outside in all weathers.
Personal transport & a full driving licence are required for this position due to its rural location. Salary is dependent on experience & qualification but is in the range £19,000 - £21,000 plus benefits.
