Description of Vacancy

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Dartford Borough Council for a Customer Service Apprentice. This role is to provide outstanding Customer Service for the council’s internal and external customers. You will be the Councils first point of contact for face to face, telephone and email enquiries for many of our key services and be given an excellent opportunity to develop existing customer service skills. Applications are welcome from those that have the desire to deliver an outstanding customer experience and would like to work and study for an apprenticeship within this organisation.

Responsibilities

As a Customer Service Apprentice you will be given all the necessary training, support and first-hand experience required to complete your NVQ Level 2 in Customer Services.

Your duties will include covering Reception, scanning & indexing documents and responding to basic telephone enquiries.

£129.50

Hours

Monday to Thursday 8.45 – 17.15

Friday 8.45 – 16.45

Unpaid 1 hr lunch break

Qualifications Required

Minimum achieved Grade D or equivalent in English and Maths.

Skills Required

  • Have good communication skills, be able to listen, show empathy, patience and consistency
  • Ability to follow clear instructions and procedures
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to adapt approach to meet differing and diverse customer needs
  • Basic IT Skills

Training Provided

On the job training with the employer whilst working towards the Apprenticeship Framework - consisting of the Intermediate NVQ Level, Technical Certificate and Functional Skills if appropriate.

Regular work based assessments/observations carried out by Kent Training & Apprenticeships Tutor Assessor, to determine competency and meet with Awarding Body standards.
