Job description: Location : Dungeness Visitor Centre Part Time: Annualised Hours Contract of 8 hours per week. Flexibility needed to work more that 8 hours as required. (hours detailed below) Salary: £20,873 (pro rata) Our visitor centre is open Monday to Friday (not bank holidays or weekends) 0900 - 1600. Tour guides are required to work for either general public tours - 0900 - 1300 OR 1300 - 1700. Attendance at science fairs, careers fairs, community events either during the day, evenings, weekends as required. This busy Visitor Centre requires the applicant to have a fast thinking approach, being able to respond quickly to changing situations. This role is designed to provide flexible support to station tours and visits to deliver the best possible experience for visitors. You will act as a face and voice of the station and EDF Energy, delivering presentation & tours to groups which include general public, organisations, business and education. Principal Accountabilities Act as the face and voice of the station and EDF Energy Ensure the safety and well being of visitors at all times throughout their visit Represent the station at external events, including giving presentations to various groups eg business/education (from pre-school to university level) Support educational groups through centre activities and station tours Manage and communicate with internal and external stakeholders Work with the Visitor Centre Co-ordinator and Communications Officer to promote and manage the reputation of EDF Energy in the local community Support in the planning and organisation of educational workshops & events Evening and weekend availability is essential for the role Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, Experience Motivated and enthusiastic Excellent interpersonal & organisational skills A methodical, motivated & customer-focused approach to work Friendly approachable & confident manner Sensitive to people's needs & cultural differences Commercially aware Team player with the ability to work well on their own Flexibility in work pattern Computer skills - word, excel & powerpoint Seeked profile: As part of the company's aspiration to become increasingly open and transparent about nuclear power and the role it plays in meeting the UK's energy needs, Visitor Centres have been established at each of our nuclear power stations.
