Employer Description

We are a friendly, family run business working as agents to brands within the fashion industry in both a retail and wholesale capacity.  The vacancy is dealing with the website of Hanro of Switzerland who are an established, premium underwear and leisurewear company that has a loyal customer following.

Description of Vacancy

A great opportunity to build all round skills in Customer Service.

Main duties include:

  1. Dealing with incoming customer queries.
  2. Picking and packing of customer orders.
  3. Updating stock levels and adding products online.

  • Answering telephones and emails.
  • Taking orders and payments over the phone.
  • Picking and packing of customer orders.
  • Processing customer returns.
  • Updating stock levels and adding online products.
  • Stock taking.
  • Participating in team meetings and assisting in the progression of the website.
  • Assisting the web manager in all aspects of the web business.


Due to rural location, having your own transport would be of benefit.

Nearest train station is Headcorn station but requires onward bus travel.

Buses from Sandhurst, Lamberhurst, Hawkhurst, Tunbridge Wells and Maidstone.

Nearest bus stop is just over one mile away, however on a busy road with no pavement


£140 per week – (£4 per hour)


Monday to Friday 9 – 5pm with 1hour lunch

35 hours per week

Qualifications Required

Minimum 5 GCSE at grades A*-C including English and maths or equivalent qualifications

Skills Required

  • Well organised.
  • Have an excellent telephone manner.
  • Have a good standard of written English and strong verbal communication skills.
  • Have the ability to work confidently using your initiative
  • Able to prioritise and organise workloads. Computer literate.

Personal Qualities

Polite and patient and have empathy with customers

Training Provided

On the job training with the employer whilst working towards the Apprenticeship Framework – consisting of the NVQ Level 2 in Customer Service, Technical Certificate and Functional Skills if appropriate.

Regular work based assessments/observations carried out by Kent Training & Apprenticeships Tutor Assessor, to determine competency and meet with Awarding Body standards.

Additional Detail

As of 1st April 2017, the NMW for Apprentices is £3.50 per hour. This applies to 16 - 18 year old Apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other Apprentices the Apprentice National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.

The wage for Apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent in training.
