2nd Line Support Technician

Marden, Kent

£19,000 - £25,000 (DOE) plus excellent, competitive benefits

Ferdinand Bilstein UK Ltd are looking for an enthusiastic 1st\2nd Line Support Technician to provide support on-site at our two sites either in the UK, in person or over the phone. The ideal candidate will be able to work under pressure and have excellent communication skills. They must have the ability to use initiative and work as part of a team to achieve results.

The Role

  • Provide 1st Line Service Desk support for incidents (problem/issues) or service requests related to hardware, software, network connectivity across the business
  • Provide 2nd Line support in regards to purchasing of computers, printer rollouts, hardware software in line with company budgets.  Also to implement pc rollouts when required
  • Administration of group server and network infrastructure
  • Fault finding skills are important especially at network, printer and computer level
  • Maintenance of all technical and user documentation ensuring it is always up-to-date and accurate
  • Management and control of backups and secure storage
  • Assist with hardware and software purchases including licensing and ISO standards
  • Assist with AD and Exchange mailbox creation
  • VOIP and mobile phone support
  • You will be involved in all areas of the business that the company provides and work in a flexible manner to be able to offer various levels of support in-line with business requirements as necessary (i.e. testing and other project related tasks)

Skills & Experience

  • GCSE or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a 1st or 2nd Line support role
  • Recent IT Service Management (ITSM) experience within a structure environment
  • Experience of troubleshooting MS Office 2010-2016 and MS Windows 7-10
  • A practical use of TCP/IP networking within a recent job role
  • Experience of setting up desktops or printers in the workplace
  • Desirable to have experience of a structured or ITIL based service desk and good working knowledge of IT hardware but not essential, training will be provided.
