National Business Development Manager (Full Loads - FTL)
My client are a very open cultured, cash rich European Road Freight Forwarder, who are the best at what they do, which is the Full load market. You feel part of a team the minute you start, learning about the business, and getting an intensive 4 week training in 4 different locations. You are treated like an adult. The company's turnoever is Circ. £50m, and has very strong plans for growth and has good investment. They have 4 offices in the UK. The main responsibilities of the role are to find and secure new business within the European Full Truck Load market by targeting 'direct shippers' across many verticals including Automotive, FMCG, Retail, Pharmaceutical and Manufacturing. The BDM will also be the face of the company and escalation point for all clients you secure work from. The BDM is expected to build and maintain relationships with these clients to develop them and secure them as customers to the company, long term. The role is a national role, based from home. Countries Dealt with: Benelux, Germany, Poland, and Czech Republic. he BDM will be expected to plan your own diary, make your own appointments, undertake cold calls and source your own leads where possible. The company has a CRM system which does contain some sales leads, we also have an outsourced telesales function that will provide some warm leads but the BDM should not rely solely on this as your source of business. The Ideal candidate The ideal candidate will have experience working within the European Full Truck Load (FTL) sector and at least 30% of your current portfolio should be FTL business. Ideally they will have experience of field sales and/or working from home. The candidate will need to be self motivated, hungry to succeed and able to 'hit the ground running'. The Package Salary is negotiable for the right candidate depending on experience. The starting salary will be about £40-48K bonus. The bonus scheme is split 50/50 between turnover and GP. This is an excellent scheme, and based on success, can add up to 50% of your salary. The successful candidate will also receive a company car or car allowance, laptop, mobile phone and home set up including desk, monitor, keyboard and laptop docking station, as required. The company offer an intensive 4 week program consisting of 1 week at our UK Head Office in the South, 1 week at our European Head Office in Europe, and one week at the South West facility , andn finally 1 week shadowing other sales team members. The successful candidate would need be willing to travel/spend time away from home for their training.
