Trainee Bookkeeper required for a well-established, fast growing printing and display company.
We require a Trainee Booker to join the business and work closely with the accounts team and management to create a smooth-running finance department.
Part time or full time and to be based in our Swanley office.
Salary dependant on experience.
You will need to be IT proficient and will be required to learn how to operate our existing systems. You will be dealing with supplier and client emails, calls and queries and must be open to being hands on within the business operations.
You will be working under our Financial Controller and all training will be given thus, little or no Bookkeeping experience is required.
The role:
Answering phone calls and dealing with customer queries
Professional telephone mannerism
Communicating directly with clients by telephone and email
Monitoring office supplies and equipment and ordering when necessary
Entering client and supplier invoices onto the System
Learning to use SAGE, PAYE and other accounting software
Maintaining and updating accounting records
Maintaining bank account records and performing bank account reconciliations
Assisting with the preparation of accounting summaries and reports when requested
Identifying and resolving any errors as appropriate
Working closely with the existing accounts team and undergoing training
Performing other related duties as required
We are looking for someone who is:
Meticulous and is extremely detail-oriented.
A great communicator. You should have excellent written and verbal communication skills and have a customer service orientation. Excellent phone manner and personable qualities are highly important for this role.
Tech-savvy. You'll need to be adept with computers, MS Office and good at figuring out new systems and tools. Familiarity with Excel is strongly preferred. SAGE experience is a big plus but is not required.
Flexible. You’ll have to have a high degree of multi-tasking and time management capabilities. You'll need to have the flexibility to adapt to rapid change in your responsibilities and priorities.
A quick learner. You'll need to be able to pick up new skills and knowledge very quickly.
Professional . Must show a high degree of integrity and professionalism.
