Northfleet Nursery School provides pre-school childcare for the Gravesend and Northfleet area.

Description of Vacancy

The vacancy is for an office administrator within a busy nursery school office. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can complement our team by ensuring telephones are answered; visitors are greeted in a professional manner and general office administration is completed on time. This can sometimes be a fast paced environment and the need to multi task is essential. A calm but professional approach is needed but never losing sight of a requirement for a good sense of humour.

Responsibilities

  • We are looking for someone to complete general office duties and to offer support to our very busy team.

Duties will be varied and will include:-

  • Greeting parents, visitors, professionals, and Governors
  • Receiving parcels
  • Answering the telephone
  • Photocopying/ printing and Scanning documents
  • General Filing duties
  • Typing/Correspondence
  • Producing newsletters and flyers

Hours

33.5 hours per week (1 hour lunch unpaid)

Monday to Friday 8.45 – 4.15

Qualifications Required

Minimum of Level 1 in Maths and English

Skills Required

  • Good attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to work on own initiative
  • Good ICT skills
  • Ability to work well on their own as well as with others
  • Good maths and English skills – GCSE A-C preferred
  • Ability to work in an organised and structured way and prioritise workload
  • Ability to deal calmly with challenging situations

Training Provided

On the job training with the employer whilst working towards the Apprenticeship Framework - consisting of the NVQ Level 2 in Children & Young People’s Workforce, Technical Certificate and Functional Skills if appropriate.

Regular work based assessments/observations carried out by Kent Training & Apprenticeships Tutor Assessor, to determine competency and meet with Awarding Body standards.
