Description of Vacancy
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual with a real passion for food to join our busy team. You should have a friendly; people focused approach and have a desire to succeed within a catering environment.
You will have a varied role and do what is necessary to help ensure the smooth running of the restaurant.
- Working alongside existing head chef to create enjoyable meals
- Learning and influencing the menu and specials board
- Preparing vegetable, fish and meat produce on a day to day basis ahead of service
- Maintaining a clean kitchen and counter
- Replenishing stock & assisting with orders
- Learning all aspects of working and running an industrial kitchen
- Achieving Level 2 Food Safety Qualification
This is a friendly, local bistro that welcomes regular customers and new alike. An interest in catering is a necessity as there are opportunities for advancement for the right candidate.
£112.50 per week based on a 30 hour working week paid at £3.75 per hour.
30 working hours per week across 7 days a week.
Shifts will include evenings and weekends.
Minimum GCSE grades A-D (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
Desire and willingness to learn. Self-motivated and able to use initiative.
We are looking for a hard working, dedicated and cheerful individual who is keen to learn new skills.
On the job training with the employer whilst working towards the Apprenticeship Framework - consisting of the Intermediate NVQ Level, Technical Certificate and Functional Skills if appropriate.
Regular work based assessments/observations carried out by Kent Training & Apprenticeships Tutor Assessor, to determine competency and meet with Awarding Body standards.
