Our client a Commercial Insurance Brokers in Maidstone is expanding their busy, successful team and looking for a Renewals Team Leader, Monday to Friday on a salary of between £32,000-£35,000 bonuses depending on experience. The Role 70 % Renewals - Take responsibility for a number of renewals each month (mainly telephone based). Obtain up dated information from client, negotiate with Insurers and sell benefits of renewal to clients. Clients from a wide range of industries including contractors / motor fleet. Premium level £ 500 - £ 10,000. Proactive role. target 92% retention New business. Reactive role providing quotes for existing clients e.g. excess layers, cross selling additional policies. Commercial Administration - deal direct with clients. Advise on and manage mid term alterations / policy changes. Set up computer records, check and issue documents to clients, check incoming proposal forms, diary management, renewal rebroking and negotiation with insurers, setting up policy records, creating client schedules Team Leader Management Responsibilities - day to day management of a team of approx. 3 people including quarterly 1-2-1 meetings, adhoc HR duties (holiday, absence etc), performance related feedback in line with appraisals, management of workloads and a source of information and support. The % split between the various categories can be varied depending upon the aptitude and experience of the candidate. 90% of time office based - 10% client visits. Benefits Salary will be dependent upon skills, experience and knowledge. Assistance is offered to undertake the Chartered Insurance Institute qualifications (optional). Key skills required The successful applicant will have a confident telephone manner, excellent communicator and a minimum of 5-years commercial insurance experience, gained within an Insurance Broking environment. Our client are looking to recruit a high-quality individual. He or she MUST be able to demonstrate an organised systematic approach, good attention to detail, a track record of commitment and success, The successful candidate is likely to be a self starter who enjoys taking responsibility, making decisions and working under the minimum of supervision. Possible candidates. It may suit (a) an experienced account handler looking to progress into more sales orientated role, but without the pressure of new business targets. (b) A new business sales executive who views client service / satisfaction as a priority, Views building long term relationships as important. Enjoys talking to clients, building relationships but enjoys the cut and thrust of doing the deal. (c) experienced renewals account executive (d) an individual with experience of managing or leading a team. Preference will be given to candidates who have made progress towards CII qualifications or are educated to A level. Future Career Path We promote from within.
