Project Manager Job Summary: To deliver the agreed programmes of work within social housing in a defined geographic area, by preparing, consulting, co-ordinating and delivering the planned programme and other capital schemes. Main Activities: • Manage delivery of specific planned programmes, which will be completed within budget and meet deadlines. • To work on consultation with stakeholders in accordance with the preparation and delivery of the planned programmes ensuring that investment needs are met and resources are used to optimal effect for the refurbishment and improvement of the housing stock. • Deliver annual programmes through directly managed technical staff and consultants through established project management structures, to deliver the programme • The stock needs must be clearly identified, surveyed and costed, with a detailed brief provided and agreed. The proposals from the brief must be reviewed and agreed before any projects can be committed. • Procurement of contracts and taking the lead on leasehold consultation for major planned projects. Advise on the method of procurement and form of contract, and be responsible for evaluating tenders, advising upon any necessary • Manage contractors and manage their performance, including regular reports and documentation on their performance • Ensure works are accurately planned and executed by preparing specifications, tenders, estimates and contracts thoroughly. Person Specification: • Comprehensive professional, technical and practical experience of working as a Project Manager • Ability to plan, manage and monitor projects and programmes of work, and meet deadlines • Ability to think laterally and develop innovative solutions to problems • Be able to manage control budgets and information systems • Good knowledge of understanding principles, tools and techniques used for managing change and ability to implement change within a team. • Full driving licence
