A new and exciting opportunity has become available for a Consultant CAMHS Psychiatrist to join our multidisciplinary team at Cygnet Godden Green. Here in Kent, we have 24 CAMHS adolescent beds (including 8 in a step down ward) for young people aged 12-18. These beds are commissioned by NHS partners. Alongside our multidisciplinary colleagues, the therapy team delivers a range of therapies including individual therapy, psychodrama, art therapy, family therapy and group work. We also support training within the hospital and facilitate reflective practice. In this role you will: Have overall medical responsibility for patients across Knole (acute general adolescent inpatient) and Littleoaks (the step-down adolescent inpatient) wards. The service offers treatment to a variety of mental health problems for young people including stress related illnesses and emotional disorders such as depression, anxiety, addictive behaviour, eating disorders, anger management and family issues. Cygnet prides itself in the provision of high quality, outcomes focused, value for money services. You will work closely with the Ward Doctor, nursing and multidisciplinary team (MDT) onsite. Participate in the on-call (2nd) Consultant rota. 1st on-call will be provided by the Junior Doctor. Are you the successful candidate we are looking for? • GMC registration, Section 12 Approval and AC Status • Current experience as a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist • Experience of working in CAMHS and as part of a multidisciplinary team • MRCPsych or equivalent • In-depth knowledge of Mental Health Legislation • Knowledge of risk assessment and risk management principles • Proven record of Continued Professional Development (CPD) • This role calls for a team-player who has the ability to relate well at all levels, to patients, carers and relatives. • An ability to work closely with and build relationships with other agencies and departments is regarded as essential.
