IT Applications Manager

West Malling




The IT Applications Manager is responsible for the overall management of our clients’ core business software applications. This role carries a diverse range of duties surrounding the full lifecycle management of our applications, including liaisons with key business stakeholders, management of relationships with external suppliers, driving onward development of the application and providing high-level support in dealing with issues or problems - all with an aim of ensuring solutions deliver the requirements of the business.

Role Responsibilities

• Complete oversight of the core business software applications - both current and future products added to the group portfolio

• To act as an ambassador and primary point of contact for the applications across the business

• Relationship management of the external suppliers including internal prioritisation of requirements, liaison with the relevant development teams and regular supplier performance review

• Primary point of escalation between the group and our external application suppliers

• Drive forward development and enhancements to the product, in line with the business strategy

• To act as an escalation for internal business users for support related matters

• Strategic planning to identify future requirements to ensure the solutions remain fit for purpose through understanding the business requirements

• Overseeing development testing and the coordination of user testing and release management

• To track supplier performance issues and provide reporting to Senior Management

• To oversee the day to day issue resolution and provide feedback to the business

• To ensure that there is up to date process documentation and user guides


Personal Qualities & Key Skills

• Extensive experience in an IT product related role

• Demonstrable experience of supplier relationship management

• Excellent communication skills and ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements

• To understand and communicate technical concepts

• Exceptional customer service orientation

• Ability to influence across the business and with third parties

• Ability to effectively organise and prioritise work for self and others

• Good written word and ability to effectively document process and procedures

• Technical knowledge and experience of working closely with technical teams

• Self-motivation and passion to learn

• Project management experience

Hours: 40 hours per week -Monday to Friday
