Description of Vacancy
This is a not-to-be-missed opportunity to combine an introduction to accountancy with a chance to develop your administrative skills at a well-reputed company in Canterbury.
Within this role you will provide vital administrative support to the team, as well as play a key role in the book-keeping for our growing portfolio of clients. By the end of your apprenticeship, you will have built up a great level of experience in both these areas.

The role will include – but is not limited to – the following tasks:
- Data entry relating to sales and purchase invoices
- Bank and cash reconciliations
- Preparation of VAT returns
-Answering the telephone and dealing with enquiries
- Preparing letters for clients
- Maintaining efficient filing systems
- Keeping our internal tracking systems up to date
- Liaising with fellow team members, third party contacts and clients in relation to all of the above.
Age 16-17 - £4.20 p/h (£157.50 per week)
Age 18-20 - £5.90 p/h (£221.25 per week)
Age 21-24 - £7.38 p/h (276.75 per week)
Age 25+ - £7.83 p/h (293.63 per week)
Monday to Friday
8.30 until 5 with 1 hour unpaid lunch
Total working hours therefore 37.50
The successful candidate should have good communication skills; both face to face, over the telephone, and in writing.
We are a small motivated team and therefore being a team player is key. However, the successful candidate will also need to be self-motivated on certain tasks to ensure deadlines are met.
C grade or above in English & Maths would be preferred.
On the job training with the employer whilst working towards the Apprenticeship Standard - consisting of the Intermediate NVQ Level, Technical Certificate and Functional Skills if appropriate.
Regular work based assessments/observations carried out by Kent Training & Apprenticeships Tutor Assessor, to determine competency and meet with Awarding Body standards.
