Canterbury Cathedral is a working church of local, national and global significance. It is the seat of the Archbishop of Canterbury and historic pilgrimage spanning 1,400 years. The Cathedral's stunning architecture and its unique role in the nation's history have inspired generations and currently attracts more than a million visitors a year to the city of Canterbury.

Communications Officer (Public Relations) - Fixed Term, full-time for a period of 12 months.

The Communications Officer works as part of a small team administering the Cathedral's social media channels, maintaining the Public Events area of the Cathedral website and publicising Cathedral events including designing artwork.

Closing date for receipt of completed applications: Friday 26th October 2018.  Interviews are expected to take place: Friday 9th November 2018

Communications Officer (The Canterbury Journey) - Fixed Term, full-time until October 2021.

The post holder will be the Cathedral's lead on the delivery and implementation of the communications and marketing based elements as part of The Canterbury Journey using a full range of communication channels. The successful candidate will build relations with key internal and external stakeholders and produce a range of high quality written communications for different audiences.

Closing date for receipt of completed applications: Wednesday 31st October 2018. Interviews are expected to take place: Monday 12th November 2018.

These exciting roles will require someone who has the ability to inspire and engage others through various communication platforms; enhancing the profile of Canterbury Cathedral and The Canterbury Journey. Applicants will hold sound experience of working in a communications function, have excellent written and verbal, photography and communication skills, a strong working knowledge of social media platforms and the ability to lead creative thinking.
