Description of Vacancy

Administrators play a crucial role in the council by handling day-to-day tasks and making sure the office runs smoothly and this sort of work requires a strong sense of responsibility, accuracy and attention to detail.  The Apprenticeship programme allows you to learn the key skills required to succeed in this role and lets you put your skills into practice in a real working environment.

We are looking for an apprentice to join our team where you can earn £136.90 a week, as well as gain a qualification whilst you work.  The Apprenticeship will be working within our busy DSO Building Management who look after the council’s housing stock.

Administrative and clerical support

To provide a range of administrative duties to support the on-going development of the repairs service.

To respond to routine correspondence and enquiries from members of the public, suppliers, and other staff.

To deal with all customer contact effectively, and courteously, in line with the council’s policies and procedures.

To maintain manual and computerised systems including inputting data, keeping records, statistics, confidential and general filing systems as directed.

To organise meetings and events, ensuring that all necessary arrangements are made.

To research, prepare, print, photocopy and distribute documents

To undertake any other administration job related tasks as required

To be a part of corporate initiatives as required.

 

Wage

£136.90 per week

 

Hours

37 hours per week working Monday – Friday.

 

Skills Required

  • Ability to carry out basic Office skills.

  • Ability to follow set procedures and routines.
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office

Qualifications Required

Willing to work to a NVQ Level 2/ 3 in Business Administration

Maths/ English GCSE A-C although not essential

 

Training Provided

On the job training with the employer whilst working towards the Apprenticeship Framework – consisting of the Intermediate NVQ Level, Technical Certificate and Functional Skills if appropriate.

Regular work based assessments/observations carried out by Kent Training & Apprenticeships Tutor Assessor, to determine competency and meet with Awarding Body standards

 

Important Information
