Nova Children's Project is a non-profit organisation providing clubs and playschemes for children and young people with learning disabilities. Our services give them the opportunity to have fun in a safe and friendly environment, whilst giving parents a much-needed break. The children and young people who attend our services are aged 8 to 25 and have a range of disabilities, including Autistic Spectrum Condition, Complex Learning Disabilities, Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy.
We are looking for enthusiastic and passionate individuals to join our team. The role is on an 'as and when' basis with hours available evenings, weekends and during school holidays. You will be supporting children and young people whilst they attend our clubs, on a one-to-one or small group basis. The role includes facilitating a range of play-based activities, assisting with personal care and managing challenging behaviour.
Successful candidates will have a minimum of one year's relevant experience of working with children and young people with disabilities, including complex medical needs and challenging behaviour. You will have access to full training, support and supervision.
Due to regular contact with children and young people, this role is subject to an Enhanced Check with the Disclosure and Barring Service.
