Mountain Marketing Ltd is a publishing company. It owns the Skier & Snowboarder magazine and is also a contract publisher producing publications, plus website and social media content, for other companies and organisations. Mountain Marketing is currently launching a new website of its own covering all community news and events in the Sevenoaks District.
Description of Vacancy
The world of publishing and journalism has exploded in recent years following the introduction of social media and other ‘new media’ online platforms.
Mountain Marketing Ltd is a traditional publisher which continues to produce print magazines while embracing and developing all new online media platforms.
We are looking for someone who has a passion for writing and an interest in websites and social media. We can help develop your writing and communication skills while you contribute to our various magazines, websites and social media outlets.
You will have the opportunity to get involved in all aspects of a media company by writing stories, taking photographs and generating content for websites and social media. You will also learn about and help with the administrative and organisational aspects of a publishing company.
One of our main publications is a skiing and snowboarding magazine so an interest in winter sports and/or travel would be an advantage but not essential. There is also the opportunity to represent the company on overseas press trip for the right candidate.
Generate content and photos/images for websites, social media platforms, publications and promotional material
Assist in the management of social media platforms
Help maintain and promote Mountain Marketing’s products and contribute to the development of marketing strategies
Assist in administrative tasks such as maintaining and updating databases and client lists
Work with the sales dept to help create platforms and features to help generate advertising income
Represent Mountain Marketing at trade and consumer shows and exhibitions
Have a willingness to travel in the UK and abroad.
£3.70 per hour
Monday to Friday
10am – 3pm
(25 hours per week)
1 hour lunchbreak (unpaid)
(Occasional weekend and evening work by mutual arrangement and agreement)
Good knowledge of grammar and written English
Able to work individually and as part of a team
Able to work under own initiative
Excellent communication skills
Social media knowledge
Well spoken and presentable.
Good attention to detail.
On the job training with the employer whilst working towards the Apprenticeship Framework – consisting of the Intermediate NVQ Level, Technical Certificate and Functional Skills if appropriate.
Regular work based assessments/observations carried out by Kent Training & Apprenticeships Tutor Assessor, to determine competency and meet with Awarding Body standards.
The employer has asked that you do not contact them direct. Doing so could jeopardise your application. You will be responsible for your travel expenses to and from your place of work. Therefore, you must have the means to get to your place of work on a daily basis whilst waiting for your first wages to be paid.
