Apprentice Office Administrator
The High Street Surgery is an extremely busy gp practice in Dover. As well as providing GP and Nurse led clinics we also have physiotherapy, ultrasound scanning, counselling, smoking cessation and dermascopy. We have a clinical pharmacist, paramedic practitioner and nurse practitioner who provide minor who run minor illness clinics. We also have a branch surgery which is a dispensing practice. We perform regular audits, electronic referrals, provide medical reports, all correspondence is scanned on patients notes and read coded.
Description of Vacancy
As well as the usual office tasks such as photocopying, the successful applicant will be assisting the practice secretary in providing information to outside agencies, assisting other admin staff in typing documents, processing medical information, processing patient notes, making appointments, answering the telephone and supporting all admin staff.
Answer the telephone and book appointments in busy periods
Photocopying medical records to send to outside Agencies
Processing patients medical records (incoming and outgoing)
Assist with unprocessed files
Other general office duties
Undertake on line and in house training as required
£135.00 per week
Monday – Friday
9am – 5pm
1 hour lunch break (unpaid)
Must work as a team member
Must have good communication skills
Must be able to work on own initiative
Grade C or equivalent in English and Maths.
On the job training with the employer whilst working towards the Apprenticeship Framework – consisting of the Intermediate NVQ Level, Technical Certificate and Functional Skills if appropriate.
Regular work based assessments/observations carried out by Kent Training & Apprenticeships Tutor Assessor, to determine competency and meet with Awarding Body standards.
As of 1st April 2019, the NMW for Apprentices is £3.90 per hour. This applies to 16 - 18 year old Apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other Apprentices the Apprentice National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
The wage for Apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent in training.
The employer has asked that you do not contact them direct. Doing so could jeopardise your application. You will be responsible for your travel expenses to and from your place of work. Therefore, you must have the means to get to your place of work on a daily basis whilst waiting for your first wages to be paid.
