Starting Salary: £30k
The Trustees of Faversham Municipal Charities administer charitable funds, and also provide independent living accommodation for older people at Faversham Almshouses.
We are seeking to appoint a Deputy Clerk, with a view to taking over as Clerk later in the year when the current Clerk retires.
Requirements include good knowledge of Microsoft Office, including data mail merge, experience in accounting, and in particular the use of Excel, including basic formulae. Minute-taking and production of minutes of meetings are essential.
The Clerk is responsible for the everyday smooth running of the Charity, including the Almshouses, ensuring that Trustees are kept fully updated, regularly and at monthly meetings. The Deputy Clerk will shadow the Clerk until able to take full responsibility.
The applicant needs to be a good administrator and communicator, able to work with and understand a wide range of different people, both in age and background, residents, staff, professionals, contractors and regulatory bodies. The applicant must be self-motivated and highly organised, and comfortable working to deadlines with a small team. Empathy and calmness under pressure, together with a good sense of humour, would be desirable.
