Apprentice IT Support Engineer
We are a small IT solutions company based in Maidstone that provide support, supply and install equipment to domestic and business premises. We also have begun to offer VOIP services to domestic users and businesses. This includes, phone systems and broadband.
Description of Vacancy
The role involves implementing and assisting to maintain the IT systems of our domestic and business customers.
General administration tasks e.g. answering telephone calls, booking in jobs, general office administration.
Complete jobs that can be completed in office, e.g. reinstall Operating systems.
The position will mainly involve working in the office and completing tasks that can be completed at our office. This can be from reinstalling an Operating System on a computer to repairing a laptop screen.The candidate will also be required to answer the phone and provide telephone support and potentially remote support for our domestic and business users.The candidate will also be expected to complete admin jobs throughout the day e.g. booking in jobs, completing job tickets etc.
£4.50 p/h = £180 per week
Working days Monday-Friday
Weekly working hours 40 (40 Paid)
1 hour lunch per day.
The candidate must share a keen interest in computing and the IT industry.
Have knowledge on basic computing, e.g. Operating Systems such as Windows and MacOS, working with computer components etc.
Competent computer skills, e.g. general knowledge in using computers.
Drivers license is NOT essential, as long as the candidate can get sufficient transport to our office.
The candidate should be hardworking, good at timekeeping.
Attention to detail is important to ensure the satisfaction of our customers.
Enthusiastic to build knowledge and understand each of our customers’ needs.
A*- C or equivalent in both English and Maths Level 2 or further in ICT
On the job training with the employer whilst working towards the Apprenticeship Framework – consisting of the Intermediate NVQ Level, Technical Certificate and Functional Skills if appropriate.
Regular work based assessments/observations carried out by Kent Training & Apprenticeships Tutor Assessor, to determine competency and meet with Awarding Body standards
As of 1st April 2019, the NMW for Apprentices is £3.90 per hour. This applies to 16 - 18 year old Apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other Apprentices the Apprentice National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
The wage for Apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent in training.
The employer has asked that you do not contact them direct. Doing so could jeopardise your application. You will be responsible for your travel expenses to and from your place of work. Therefore, you must have the means to get to your place of work on a daily basis whilst waiting for your first wages to be paid.
