Cost Estimation & Pricing Principal Would you like to part of a finance team that is a key support for business strategy? We currently have a vacancy for a Cost Estimation & Pricing Principal at our site in Rochester. As a Cost Estimation & Pricing Principal, you will report to the Head of Finance - Cost Estimating and Pricing, this role is responsible for the supervision, planning, creation, timeless, accuracy and the successful delivery of the estimates to the customer. In this role you will act as a team leader for the team and support Head of Finance in the successful delivery of the department strategy. There will be strong emphasis on reporting, dashboards, implementation of KPI's, change management and successful implementation of a work management system. This role will involve coordinating with cost estimating team and wider business, creating visibility and allocation of bids to the team, mapping bid priority list from key stakeholders across the business and resource allocation, highlighting risks and mitigating them. Your main responsibilities as a Cost Estimation & Pricing Principal will involve: Contribute to the implementation of best practice, cost estimating vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance Support Head of Cost Estimating & Pricing in successful implementation of new work management system (possibly JIRA) Support Head of Cost Estimating & Pricing in reviewing bids and recommend appropriate course of action Monitor and review data and information to detect and assess problems and make recommendations to resolve issues Support and assist in the production of robust estimating and pricing plans, compliance with control processes, and the validation and challenge of bid estimates Work as an integrated part of the cost estimating and pricing team of 4 to support the effective delivery of day-to-day support to the bids and proposals requirements of the business Your skills and qualifications: Strong IT systems knowledge and skills including advanced Excel skills Experience of supervising or managing a team would be highly desirable Demonstrable track record of adding significant value Experience of cost estimating or finance within a manufacturing/engineering environment would be highly advantageous Experience of using spreadsheets and complex estimating, pricing models and cost management tools What we're looking for in you: You will be highly articulate, have clear and analytical approach to problem solving, and strong decision making abilities.
