Thank you for your interest in the position of Postgraduate Experience Coordinatorat Kent Union. We are a successful, vibrant and exciting organisation with a bright future ahead of us. We have achieved a great deal in the last few years, more than doubling in size to our current £12 million turnover, 500 employees and 2,000+ volunteers. Kent Union is a great place to work. We were re-accredited with Investor in People Gold status in December 2014, and were accredited with Leaders in Diversity in 2013; we were the first students’ union in the UK to achieve Investing in Volunteers status and have been included in the Sunday Times 100 Best Not-For-Profit Organisations to Work For, for 10 years, placed 58th for 2019.

Are you passionate about working with students? Do you want to support and empower postgraduate student representatives and lead volunteers? Are you eager for the chance to help lead an important area of work supporting the development of postgraduate representation and activities for students at Kent?  If the answer is yes, then this role is for you. The role of Postgraduate Experience Coordinator will be integral in coordinating Kent Union’s work to create, support and develop opportunities for postgraduate students to get involved in student voice and co-curricular activities whilst studying at university. As part of this role you will support, train and empower the 90+ postgraduate Student Reps that act as the voice between students, Kent Union and the University. You will also be leading on the implementation of a new programme of activities for our postgraduate students to ensure they have the best time whilst at Kent.

You will get to work with students every day, supporting our student volunteers to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to develop and provide outstanding experiences for other students. You will also be working closely with stakeholders to develop and build partnerships with University schools and departments. We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting student led activities and empowering student voice, and making a difference in an exciting and fast paced environment. You’ll have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and be able to engage with both students, volunteers and senior staff within the University. We are looking for someone with experience of working with volunteers, a track record in coordinating multiple projects and someone willing to go above and beyond for the students at Kent. This is an incredibly exciting role and opportunity to be a part of one of our most important areas of work. We hope you consider joining the team.
