Traffic Summons Caseworker

Kent Police Headquarters, Maidstone

£18,984 - £21,930

Permanent, Full time

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a number of individuals to undertake the role of Caseworker, within the Traffic Summons Team, Central Process Unit at Force Headquarters.

This is a challenging role that requires the successful candidates to carry out administrative duties in relation to collisions and traffic offences. This includes collecting evidence from victims and witnesses and liaising with reporting officers. You will be required to carry out directions from Case Review Officers concerning the gathering of further evidence and ensure that cases are disposed of correctly and most particularly that any Postal Requisition applications through Athena are made within statutory time limits.  There will also be a need to communicate regularly with victims and other interested parties to ensure they are kept up to date with developments.

The successful candidate will be a good team player, be receptive to change and able to work well under pressure. You will need to demonstrate that you are highly organised and capable of planning and prioritising your work to ensure that deadlines are achieved which is vital in the role.  You will have good keyboard skills and ideally have experience of both Athena and PNC as Postal Requisitions and Single Justice Procedure Notices are created using the Athena Case function.  Training will be provided.  You will have outstanding customer service skills and be comfortable in making and receiving both internal and external telephone calls. Excellent communication skills are essential as communication with members of the public including defendants, victims and witnesses, police officers, court and CPS officials is crucial to the role.

This opportunity would suit highly organised individuals who have the ability to prioritise and plan their work load. The successful candidates will be able to influence working processes and identify best practice to ensure a high level of service is provided and maximum efficiencies are achieved.
