School Office Administration Assistant Apprentice
We are a Primary Academy (Years 3 – 6), part of the Diocese of Canterbury Academies Trust.
We are seeking to appoint 2 confident, motivated and enthusiastic apprentices to work in our busy and friendly school offices. You will be based in Kennington CE Academy and will work at least 1 day a week in Charing Primary School. Your role will include general administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, sending and delivering messages, updating documents. You will need excellent communication skills to enable you to answer the telephone in a polite and efficient manner and liaise with visitors and parents face to face in order to answer any sort of school related enquiries. You will support the Executive Headteacher across both schools (Kennington CE Academy and Charing CP Primary School) with any tasks she needs doing including the preparation of meeting rooms and providing refreshments when required, taking of minutes of meetings, updating notice and display boards, handle confidential information with due care and maintain confidentiality of the school’s affairs and compliance with GDPR regulations.
£3.90 ph paid in 12 equal monthly amounts.
37 hours per week for 40 weeks per year (term time plus inset days and 5 additional days in the school holidays as agreed with the Executive Headteacher or School Business Manager).
Your initial hours of work will be 8.30 am – 4.30 pm (4.00pm finish on a Friday) including study time, with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break. These hours may be varied in accordance with the needs of the school.
Full use of Microsoft Office Confident and competent IT use Interpersonal skills (telephone and in person) The ability to work to strict timescales and deadlines. Great organisational skills and the ability to work across multi sites. Recognise the need for confidentiality.

A* – C GCSE grades in English and Maths
On the job training with the employer whilst working towards the Apprenticeship Standard – consisting of the Intermediate NVQ Level, Technical Certificate and Functional Skills if appropriate.
Regular work based assessments/observations carried out by Kent Training & Apprenticeships Tutor Assessor, to determine competency and meet with Awarding Body standards.
The employer has asked that you do not contact them direct. Doing so could jeopardise your application. You will be responsible for your travel expenses to and from your place of work. Therefore, you must have the means to get to your place of work on a daily basis whilst waiting for your first wages to be paid.
