NIGHT ATTENDANT (CASUAL)
Trinity Homes in Walmer, near Deal, has a rare opportunity for a special person to join our team to provide casual Night Attendant cover for annual leave and sickness absence, initially for a period of 6 months with the possibility of extension thereafter.
About The Role
The Trinity Homes Night Attendants are key members of the Trinity Homes team and play an active role in creating and maintaining a safe, secure and comfortable environment in which our residents live independently.
The primary responsibility of the Night Attendant is the provision of a ‘night-time peace of mind’ service, i.e. a reassuring night support and pastoral care service, for our residents who all live independently. The Night Attendant also carries out a small number of other tasks relating to site safety and security, office-based administration, and housekeeping. The role of Night Attendant does not include the provision of personal or nursing care to residents.
Sleeping accommodation is provided in the form of a private bedroom, with a private bathroom, sitting room and small kitchen all available for use during Night Attendant shifts.

About Trinity Homes
Trinity Homes is part of The Corporation of Trinity House, a maritime charity with a long history spanning over 500 years of supporting seafarers at all stages of their careers. The almshouses of The Corporation are known collectively as Trinity Homes, and are designated for retired mariners and their dependents.
The Trinity Homes complex consists of 18 purpose-built two-bedroom bungalows in Walmer. There is also a common room and beautiful communal gardens for residents to enjoy.
Trinity Homes is a small community, run by a small on-site team, and is not intended as a care home. All residents must meet strict criteria for entry to the Homes and are expected to be independent and self-caring.
We are proud to say that the majority of members of our small team at Trinity Homes are very long-serving, so we are recruiting carefully to be sure that we find the right person to complement our existing team.
Our New Night Attendant will be a special person with a naturally caring approach. You will have experience of providing pastoral care to older adults or vulnerable persons, or of working in a context from which the pastoral care skills developed can be transferred to working with older adults. As this is a casual role, you may have other commitments in your life, such as another job, study, or an important role in your family home. You will be comfortable working on your own and without direct supervision, with the ability to think pro-actively and make decisions independently. You will be able to keep a ‘cool head’ and remain calm in high pressure situations. You will also be a positive communicator, with the ability to build relationships with people from all walks of life.
How To Apply
If you would like to be our new casual Night Attendant, please phone 01304 364347 to request a Candidate Pack, which contains a full job description, person specification and instructions for how to apply. The closing date for all applications is 9am Monday 28th September 2020.
Please note that it is a condition of every job offer made to a prospective employee that a clean Enhanced DBS certificate, sponsored by The Corporation of Trinity House, is obtained prior to the commencement of employment. Confirmation of all appointments is subject to proof of eligibility to work in the UK and the receipt of satisfactory references.
