Design Director (Full time / Permanent) A vibrant regional design and build workplace company specialising in high impact office interior design and fit out seek a creative Head of Design to join and lead their current design team. Key tasks of the Head of Design include: Produce, present and win client pitches in a competitive environment Responsible for managing the design of projects from initial concept through to working drawing sign off Managing and mentoring a small team of project designers Presenting to large blue chip companies, maintaining and building long established client relationships Key team working / team building tasks; Develop, manage and lead the following; -Quotation preparation and presentation output material incl; Class leading presentations, Technical correctness, Comprehensive & clear specifications, High quality -Regular team CPD -Keeping the company at the forefront of design systems & processes -Design team recruitment process -Design workload pre-planning -Daily team direction Key attributes of the Design Director include: -Well-presented charismatic client facing individual highly confident in pitching -Proficient in AutoCAD. Knowledge of 3D modelling software an advantage. -Preferably will come from a commercial workplace Design and Build background and have a strong portfolio of exceptionally designed workplace interiors. -Ability to bring innovative ideas to the table, challenge the brief and push the boundaries -Have 5 years of experience in creating innovative yet commercially viable projects -Hands on individual with a strong teamwork approach -Fluent in written and spoken English (written and oral skills must also be of a high standard) -Excellent commercial awareness -Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines, especially on work for pitches and tenders -Ability to manage your own time and that of relevant others responsibly and effectively -A positive and professional ‘can do’ attitude -Ownership for achieving personal and team objectives -Ability to create a culture of continuous improvement personality / character profile; -Good culture fit Absolute essential; 1.
