Import / Export Specialist A global powerhouse within the Pharma industry is looking for an Import / Export Specialist to join their team on an initial 6 month contract. The role will initially be onboarded remotely, before hopefully joining the team in Kent. The primary role of the Import Export Specialist is to provide clearance instructions to the Broker organisations for UK clearances for Imports. This position utilises the knowledge of importation processes and requirements to ensure efficient tools are in place to manage logistical moves of Commercialise products within the organisation. The role is responsible for ensuring quality and compliance through risk identification, mitigation, and strategic planning for all importations. Excellent customer service skills, root cause analysis and data driven decision making are utilised daily in this position. Responsibilities: This position provides operational and strategic Import/Export-related support to the Organisation for Commercialised products. The primary role of the Import/Export Specialist is to serve as a primary point of contact between the organisation and strategic partners such as customs brokers, carriers, warehouse, storage, and domestic distribution providers to ensure safe, compliant, and secure movement of Commercial supplies. This role is responsible for the delivery of logistics activities pertaining to all aspects of planning, cost effectiveness, and timeliness of high-quality Commercial supplies. This position will ensure effective import/export activities by interacting with the Commercial organisation, and external partners (i.e., Customs Brokers, Distribution service providers and Carrier service providers). Required Skills: 3 years' experience in an Import/Export function Understanding of the customs clearance process, including Customs Duty/VAT Experience in raising Export invoices for international shipping An understanding of Incoterms, Tariff codes, Customs procedure codes and Duty saving preferences Compliance checking of customs entry documents Interacting with customs Brokers Issuing customs clearance instructions Raising Purchase Orders relating to freight costs Data entry and good admin skills Attention to detail Desirable Skills: Understanding of SAP Huntress Search Ltd acts as a Recruitment Agency in relation to all Permanent roles and as a Recruitment Business in relation to all Temporary roles.
