They are now seeking a Materials Testing Technician to join their team in Sittingbourne which is easily commutable from Maidstone, Gillingham and Canterbury. The Role As a Materials Testing Technician, you will join an experienced team and carry out a range of soil, aggregate, concrete and asphalt testing activities. In this engaging role, you will ensure that all materials samples comply with ISO 17025 and ISO 9001 standards and are fit for purpose. You will undertake material sampling and sample management, as well as cleaning, maintaining and calibrating all test equipment. This is to ensure compliance and accuracy of the testing process. Working to British and European standards and customer SLAs, you will also: - Visit sites within a defined geographical area and conduct testing - Work closely with the Operations Manager and Quality and Technical Manager - Follow all health and safety policies, procedures and safe systems of work - Collect ground samples in line with the correct protocols - Ensure samples are returned to the laboratory for timely and accurate analysis - Provide outstanding customer care and act as a company ambassador - Maintain all company equipment and report faulty or damaged equipment As part of your role, you will be required to work some night and weekend shifts as required for which overtime will be paid. About You To be considered as a Materials Testing Technician, you will need: - The willingness to travel to sites within a defined geographical area - A full, valid driving licence - A team player mentality as well as the initiative to work alone - An enthusiastic, reliable and punctual approach to work - A good level of numeracy and strong maths skills - Strong attention to detail - The willingness to work some nights and weekends as required This role will involve an element of lifting and manual handling of objects and equipment. A valid CSCS card would be beneficial to your application, but this is not essential as full training and funded accreditation will be provided.
