You will be working for a highly successful UK manufacturer that has grown rapidly and has more than doubled in size in the last four years. Your purpose will be to streamline current procedures across all departments to aid the company’s growth. Working across the company, upgrading procedures from quoting all the way through to dispatching of goods. This new position will be a pivotal role helping the company move to the next level. Streamlining procedures and supporting the IT systems which will play a major part of the role. Experience in managing IT development projects like ERP/ CRM systems is essential. Key Duties & Responsibilities: • Accountable to the Managing Directors. • Reporting progress at the monthly Management Meeting. • You will be making decisions that will maintain and enhance the performance of the company. • Manage packing and dispatch departments. Overseeing UK and international despatches. • Overseeing and keeping up to date with export guidance, legislation and procedures. Attending export courses as required. • Seeking most suitable courier / freight forwarder for the company's logistics needs in UK and for export. • Understanding tax requirements for UK and international trade. • Oversee and manage IT department and software development projects. • Working and liaising with all departments to determine best practise and develop procedures to increase efficiency throughout the company while maintaining customer centric values. • Implementing procedures, creating guides, training staff and enforcing processes were required. • Ensure operational procedures are kept up to date, improved and followed. • Understanding your role within the organisation, aiming to improve performance and achieve objectives. • Taking ownership of all process development while maintaining strong relationships between all department and driving efficiency. Example projects • Project manage and oversee the development and implementation of bespoke ERP/ CRM system. • Revise procedures effected by the implementation of the new IT system. • Oversee changes in the sales and dispatch department caused by Brexit. • Create and document all current procedures in line with new document systems. • Refine returns procedure and the duty monitoring process. • Amending templates for software when required. Skills / Attributes required: • Minimum of 5 years previous experience working as an Operations Manager for a manufacturing company. • You will thrive on a fast-paced working environment and demonstrate the ability to juggle priorities without losing site of the business objectives. • Accurate and strong attention to detail. • Ability to multi-task, make decisions and manage time effectively. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Proficient in MS Office and familiar with ERP/ CRM systems. • You will need to have exceptional managerial skills, including communication and leadership qualities, time management, along with a proven background in managing teams. • You will have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships with a wide range of people. • You will live and breathe the business’ core values, promoting and encouraging others to do the same.
