About the role: This is a key role within the South East region of our business, reporting directly into the South East Area Manager. You will oversee regional activities, including expanding our client base and the delivery and development of the business. Penetrating new markets, you will increase business growth with both new and existing customers. Building solid relationships, you will forge new relationships with potential new customers and maintain solid relationships with current customers to secure repeat business. Whilst motivating and leading your team, you will deliver an effective and efficient first class service to our customers. You will also ensure that your workforce have relevant training and are equipped with the relevant skills to meet demands. The includes ensuring effective and prompt communication of tool box talks, safety alerts and other contract methodology. You will also work collaboratively with colleagues across the group to ensure best practice and develop and implement solutions to maximise profitability and by adding sustainable value. Embedding management procedures and controls, you will drive productivity and will be accountable for achieving the contracts financial targets. This will include regular liaisons with the commercial and finance team and the reviewal of cost and commercial reports. Health and Safety is also paramount to your role. Being accountable for all the depots ESG activities, you will ensure all works adhere to safe working procedures and all Health, Safety Quality and Environmental policies are implemented. About You: A highly motivated, confident individual, with extensive knowledge of the TM industry. An excellent communicator and team worker, you have experience of successfully identifying and proceeding with new business leads. Adaptable and flexible, you work well in everchanging situations and in a fast-paced environment. You thrive establishing dynamic working relationships with suppliers, customers and colleagues, forging relationships built on trust and delivery. Communicating ideas to improve efficiencies and enhance margin come naturally as well as offering ideas to aid depot growth and development. Qualifications & Skills: To be considered for this role you will be required to hold the below qualifications/ skills: Relevant Lantra Sector Scheme qualifications IOSH Managing Safely/SSSTS/SMSTS or equivalent Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong influencing and negotiation skills, and the ability to build strong working relationships and network with sector stakeholders Numeracy skills to manage budgets and bid costings Pragmatic and ability to create solutions that meet business needs Collaborative in approach Proficient in the use of a PC, Microsoft Office software and ability to work with other business management systems and use remote technology Local knowledge of the region’s construction and maintenance market, particularly Highways England, local authority highway maintenance and utilities highways works Experience leading a team within an operational environment Desirable: TTME Other formal commercial or business management qualifications Competent in the use of TM design CAD software
