Working in close collaboration with the General Manager and Site Managers, you will work hard to keep the buildings and grounds to an acceptable standard. As part of building security and alarms, you will be required to partake in an on-call rota. The Care Taker will be able to effectively prioritise their work and ensure they are resourceful in the requisition of parts and materials. The GP Partners will expect work to be carried out at all Ashford Medical Partnership sites in a safe and tidy manner.

 

About us

 

 

On 11th March 2019, three well established practices merged to become Ashford Medical Partnership. Willesborough Health Centre, Singleton Health Centre and St Stephens Health Centre serve a practice population of over 32,500 patients.

The practices are all located in the heart of Ashford and are approximately 2.5miles apart. The sites are within easy reach of Junctions 9 and 10 of the M20 and we are a few minutes from Ashford International train station.

 

The current workforce is led by 8 GP Partners, 6 salaried GPs, 6 Nurse Practitioners, a large Nursing and HCA Team and our other allied healthcare professionals. The clinical team is complimented by a General Manager and a large Administrative team consisting of reception, administrative and secretarial staff.

You will have access to your own vehicle and be prepared to move furniture, medical equipment, patient notes, documentation or other items as required.

 

Person Specification

Experience Essential

  • Excellent communication skills. Excellent attention to detail. Able to work on own initiative. Time management skills and the ability to prioritise workload. Enthusiasm for the role and the presentation of the Practice to staff, patients and visitors. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrates flexibility, commitment and adaptability. Can demonstrate and ability to value the opinions of others and work as a team. A positive role model. Fitness to do the job. Must be able to travel between sites and attend local meetings as required. Ability to assess and manage risk effectively and safely. Able to work under pressure. Recognises the need to work outside of normal hours as and when required. Able to cope with exposure to verbally aggressive behaviour. Able to multi-task and cope with an unpredictable work pattern. Full driving licence. Access to suitable vehicle to be used within your role. Knowledge of associated trades. Knowledge of health and safety procedures and safe working practices. Able to work autonomously.

Desirable

  • Ability to manage pressured situations. Knowledge of the demands in healthcare premises.

Qualifications Essential

  • NVQ II or equivalent in relevant trade or onsite experience. Proven experience of unsupervised work in a similar role. Basic IT skills including the use MS Office Programmes. Ability to work under pressure and to tight and challenging deadlines.

Desirable

  • Up to date Fire Warden Certificate. Experience in facilities management. Previous NHS experience.
