Operations Director

We are working with a leading manufacturing business who have been established for nearly 50 years offering a niche product range who are seeking an Operations Director to join their growing business.

This individual needs to come from a manufacturing background, be an excellent relationship builder, confident presenting to senior level individuals and drive continuous improvement.

The role will be managing operations across all warehouse, production, and despatch operatives, and you will be promoting a lean manufacturing culture within the business.

We need someone who has worked up from grass roots and leads by example. While being at a senior level role you need to have a strong understanding of all functions within the warehouse at an operational/hands-on level, and roll your sleeves up to get involved as and when required.

Ideally this individual will have experience working in a business that distribute internationally. Experience of assisting a business as they continue to grow across different markets could also be beneficial.

Duties
*Lead the operational function of all warehouse divisions and teams
*Ensuring all Health & Safety regulations are up to date and maintained
*Forward planning of warehouse capacity
*Manage any staffing issues, rotas & appraisals.
*Implementing lean manufacturing principles and deploying business improvement projects
*Budget management
*Visits to key client site as and where required
*Be hands on with all areas of warehouse operations as and when required - Leading from the front
*Report to board regularly on various activities

Required Experience:
*Must have a strong track record in a senior level operational role
*Experience in a manufacturing or similar environment
*Good communication skills - written & oral
*Experience managing multi-functional teams
*Lean principles
*Continuous improvement experience
*Project management skills would be beneficial
*Computer literate
*Knowledge of WMS/ERP/MRP systems required
*Good manual dexterity
*Confident presenting to individuals across all levels and disciplines
*Quality Management
*H&S knowledge
