Tonbridge School is one of the leading boys' boarding schools in the country and highly respected internationally and employs over 800 staff. The School’s facilities are on an extensive campus close to the centre of Tonbridge and include many important historic and impressive buildings, 11 of which are Grade II listed, including significant academic buildings, 7 boarding houses and 5-day houses.  Other facilities are, a Sports Centre, Medical Centre, Theatre, the Chapel of St Augustine of Canterbury, and over 150 acres of grounds.

A very rare opportunity has arisen for an outstanding and experienced Human Resources Professional to lead our HR Department.  Reporting to the School Bursar, you will be a member of the Senior Support Management Team and will be responsible for the management of an excellent, customer-centric HR service that supports both academic and support functions.  

The Head of HR will lead a small, established team of HR Advisers, providing HR support to a wide range of business areas. The ideal candidate will have strong experience of HR processes and employment law, with exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and inspire.

Previous experience of working in School environment, including management of safer recruitment and safeguarding processes, would be advantageous, but is not essential.
