To achieve this, we are recruiting a driven and innovative Active Communities Manager to lead the Active Communities Service across our Ashford contract. The Active Communities Manager will have experience within the field, managing local teams, projects and successful partnerships and they will have a commitment to improving the health & wellbeing of local people. The AC Manager will receive support from the local contract team, our head office, the local Council Sport & Health Team and they will be part of the wider Active Communities team across the Country. You will be the local point of contact for all sites, partners and groups to develop a diverse Active Communities offering. You will lead on the local development plan to increase opportunities for people to get more active, improve their wellbeing and motivation, contributing to achieving key outcomes of Sport England, Ashford Borough Council and Kent Sport. You will work with local teams and networks to avoid duplication and maximise collaborative opportunities to develop a broad range of programmes for local communities. We are looking for someone who is highly organised, self-motivated and able to work with a wide range of people and groups. You will ensure all work is evidenced and the impact of all programmes is known. You will be responsible for attracting external funding to the contract and have experience of financial accountability. The role requires you to have a valid driving licence, and access to a car, as you will be required to travel across Ashford and to various locations across the Country. Hours: 37hrs a week, Monday to Friday – Managers will need to be flexible, as the role may include work at weekends/ out of office/evenings as required. Requirements At least 6 months experience within a sports development based role Proven experience with leading on key sport development and community programmes. Experience of programme management, within budgets and leading on service level agreements An awareness of the roles of Sports Partnerships, National Governing Body initiatives, the voluntary sector and Local Authorities. Good computer skills and understanding Excellent communication skills, able to think on your feet.
