Senior Android Developer (Remote) Salary: up to £65k Location: Remote (office based in Derby with 100% optional travel) You’re an Android dev. It’s what you do, and you’re pretty good at it, too. But how much of what you do is fulfilling? There’s a company based in Derby that are working closely with our NHS to build a platform that not only helps them communicate critical information quickly and efficiently, but it helps them make the lives of patients easier too. They’ve got some pretty exciting growth plans, and if you’re a Senior Android Developer, they want you to join them as they take their next steps from start up to established business. It hasn’t always been smooth sailing for them, but they’ve made some real progress and created a company culture that any dev would be proud to be a part of. In terms of skills, they’re not obsessed with job specs or box-ticking exercises. With it being a senior position on the team though, it’ll help if you can say “yep, I can do that” to the following: You understand that applications have to be scalable over time, and you have an appreciation for clean, high quality, readable code Android (Kotlin or Java) is your playground, and your knowledge of architecture and software design is on point. You know that when you’re building mission-critical apps, performance and efficiency is the 1 priority You solve problems. It’s what you do, and you definitely won’t be seen shying away from a tricky one Adding to that – you’re a communicator. You know that being a one-man/woman army isn’t the best way to do things, and your colleagues are there to help you just as much as you’re there to help them – there are no silos or lone wolves here They’re a business lead by developers (the CEO is happy to jump in to the codebase himself when things get tough), and they know that nobody does their best work when they’re chained to a desk. You’ll have the freedom and trust to work in the way you want to work, your ideas will be valued, and they’re confident that with the right people on the team, the sky really is the limit.
