Office and Accounts Manager


We are looking for a meticulous and organized professional to join our team. Reporting directly to the director of this independent run plumbing business you will be responsible for the efficient running of all aspects the admin side of the business including bookkeeping using Sage 50 accounts.


It is a varied role which for the right candidate you can make it your own. Some of the duties are listed below but this is a role that is organic as the business transitions to new working systems and you need to be able to respond to whatever comes in as well as ensure the daily admin tasks are completed.

 

Duties to include but not exclusively:


Bookkeeping – Using Sage 50 accounts system maintain the purchase and sales ledgers, bank reconciliation and manage payments to suppliers. You will be solely responsible for the accounts system. There will be a handover period from the current manager.
Prepare and check quarterly VAT return
HR administrative duties such as approval of holidays, recording sick leave and ensuring correct staff cover across the two shops
Maintaining the record management system and keeping the office in order
Ensure office supplies and stationery are kept at optimum levels
Maintain the email accounts
Customer and supplier liaison including including sales orders invoices and filing. Ensure the company vehicles are taxed and serviced in a timely fashion
Research and renew utilities for both shops as required to ensure best value for money.
At times you will be required to assist with customer phone enquiries to record and forward onto the trade counter
Maintaining and entering information onto spreadsheets, including price increases.


You will need:
Experience of Sage 50 accounts Microsoft office and excel spreadsheets
Computer literacy is a must for this role
Strong organizer and planning skills
Excellent communication skills, good grammar and math
Ability to be a team player and muck in with whatever needs doing
Energy, stamina and enthusiasm for this varied office role

Start date: Immediate

Full time permanent position Monday to Friday. 8-4pm
Experience required: Sage 50 accounts minimum 2 years, driving licence
Experience of Sage payroll is desirable but not essential
No remote working - this job is office based at the Gillingham shop Kent
Salary £23000-25000 per year dependent on age and experience.
