A well-established, local provider of exceptional 24-hour residential care for adults with learning disabilities has opportunities for full, part-time and wake night Support Workers across the Ashford area. Experience is preferred, but not essential as full training will be provided. Job overview Deliver individualised person-centred care as per individual plans and assessments, supporting adults who have learning disabilities with all aspects of their daily lives, including: Social and physical activities Booking and attending appointments Helping with personal care such as support with showering and dressing Supporting with eating and drinking Assisting with the monitoring of individual’s health and administering medication To provide care in accordance with best practice and legislative requirements, reflecting policies and procedures and agreed standards under the direction of the Registered Manager. Supporting and enabling service-users to maintain skills and personal interests whilst delivering person-centred care unique to each individual. To maintain skills at a current level, undertake such training and development as required to maintain and progress knowledge. Main responsibilities and Duties Ensure service-users are at the heart of care delivery at all times To contribute to the efficient running of the service in the best interests of the service-users Support service-users to maintain their relationships and connections with their family, friends and local community Ensure Care Plans and other information about how to support service-users are followed Be responsible for informing the senior staff of any changes in the needs of service-users Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of the service-users Develop effective working relationships with your colleagues Work in cooperation with members of the multi-disciplinary teams to maximise opportunities for service-users Be a role model for your colleagues and be an ambassador for the service Be professional, polite and reasonable at all times Understand the regulatory framework that governs the service, including the role of CQC and their requirements Commit to achieving the relevant qualifications commensurate with the role Attend statutory training and any other training as directed by management Familiarise yourself with all policies & procedures and apply them to your practice NVQ or Diploma L2 in Health and Social Care is preferred but not essential as full training will be provided.
