Site Manager – Earthworks and Remediation Location – Covering London and the South East Salary - £ 50,000 - £60,000 dependant on experienece Due to my clients ever increasing order book and their firm status as a leader and innovator in the earthworks,remediation and enabling works sector they require a Site Manager to help drive projects in London and the South East. The purpose of this role is to directly oversee site-based operations and to maintain efficient and safe delivery of the project objectives, ensuring all policies and procedures are adhered to at all times. This role would be suitable for candidates with at least 3 years or more experience in largescale earthmoving remediation and civils. Primary responsibilities • On site management of project allocated by the Contracts Manager. • Deliver project in line with quality, Cost and Programme. • Complete project incident and injury free. • Complete projects without any environmental incidents. • Complete projects to the agreed specification and quality. • Ensure ALL plant, labour and materials are ordered in a timely manner to meet the contract programme. Secondary responsibilities • Represent the company in a professional manner maintaining the company’s corporate and commercial image. • Communicate issues in a timely manner with line management. Reviewing and agreeing key strategic decisions prior to communication with the customer/client. • Draw up and agree detailed cost and programme targets at commencement in conjunction with the Contracts Manager. • Developing a positive management style to utilise skills and opportunities that exist, to help grow the business. • Monitor and report back to the health and safety manager and HR department on the capabilities of personnel assigned to their projects and possible training requirements. • Ensure that all work is planned and undertaken in line with the company’s health and safety and environmental policy. • Ensure that SSMS is ran and maintained on ever project. • Ensure that where my client is the main contractor that the contract is ran in line with the CDM Health and Safety Plan. • Draw up and instigate safe methods of work utilising:  Method Statements.  Risk Assessments.  COSHH Assessments.  Environmental Assessments. • Draw up and instigate control measures for all work in accordance with ISO 9001 $ 14001 & 18001 accreditation and procedures.  Quality Plan  Environmental Plan  Test record procedures  Testing record reports  Design checks  Document records (to and from the client) • Maintain a day to day relationship with the “customer”. • Ensuring and optimising my client’s livery opportunities at all sites (Plant hire equipment, Perimeter fences, site huts, PPE, etc). • Ensure all plant is hired and off hired in line with my client’s procurement procedures. • Oversee the general foreman to ensure all equipment is cleaned and maintained and that the weekly maintenance schedule is being kept up to date and reported. • Oversee the general foreman to ensure all tools and equipment are used in a safe and conscientious manner (includes daily check for wear and tear and replaced if necessary). • Ensure all holiday requests are submitted in writing for all staff, to either their Contracts Manager or HR Department 4-6 weeks prior to the holiday for their full approval. • Completion and submission of administrative inputs on a timely basis to Head Office, weekly, monthly and contract completion etc.  Cost versus Target Cost Report (weekly)  Progress against targeted programme (weekly)  Plant Maintenance schedules (weekly)  Site diaries (weekly)  Delivery notes (weekly)  Company credit card receipts/petrol receipts (monthly)  Expense forms (monthly)  Holiday request forms.  Measurement records (as required by the commercial manager to meet the valuation dates)  SSMS records (all records to be submitted to office on completion). • Managing my clients staff and sub-contractor employees • Implementation in conjunction with the General Foreman all site-specific Health and Safety matters, including direct staff and subcontractors.  Inductions  Practises  House-keeping (Safe Site, PPE equipment, etc.)  Compliance  Understanding of RIDDOR requirements and submission of relevant data for Company Accident Book, e.g written record of accidents to be submitted to Head Office. • Conducting toolbox talks as appropriate in conjunction with General Foreman. • Obtain written “Customer” instructions for any changes or amendments to the contracted works. • Obtain written “Customer” sign off, at handover of competed works. (this should consist of a site letter and or record sheet of the levels / dips etc.) • Obtain a final written agreement of the measure i.e completed quantities, prior to leaving site and to submit this to the commercial manager. • Complete with the clients representative a “Customer” satisfaction form prior to leaving site and submit this to head office. • Meet or exceed criteria identified for participation in both the company and individual bonus schemes. Have a good understanding of remediation and large-scale earthworks. From either working in the remediation sector directly or the earthworks sector.
