Employer Description 

Kite college is a new independent specialist FE college providing supported provision to young people aged 16-25 all with educational health care plans. The college will open its doors for the first time in September 2021 and will deliver full-time vocational training programmes for SEN and vulnerable students.

Description of vacancy 

Kite college is looking for a dedicated receptionist to be part of our team, and work closely with all staff to ensure the welfare of all our learners. A desire to progress working in SEN is essential. Following successful completion of the apprenticeship a permanent position will be considered, this opportunity will allow the right person to progress their SEN knowledge and skillset into other areas of the organisation, such as Learning Support, Referrals, Administration, and Financials.

  • Politely and professionally answer phone calls and direct them to the relevant member of staff.
  • Speak to learners and visitors to direct them and give information.
  • Answer general enquiries over the phone and email.
  • Work alongside the senior administrator to assist with admin work as required.
  • Help staff facilitate and distribute course work.
  • Potential for permanent employment for the right candidate.

Wage

£4.30 per hour

£161.25 per week

Hours

Monday to Friday 8.30 – 5.00

(1 hour unpaid lunch break)

37.5 paid hours

20% paid time during working hours is given to complete training, referred to as “Off the Job Training”

Qualifications Required

Minimum GCSE Grade 4 to 9 (or Grade C or higher) in English and Maths or equivalent qualifications in these subjects.

DBS clearance will also be required.

Training Provided

On the job training with the employer whilst working towards the Apprenticeship Standard – Customer Services Practitioner Level 2 Standard will establish an Apprentice’s skills to deliver high quality service to customers both internally and externally. The Apprenticeship will incorporate knowledge of customers and the customer experience, understanding the organisation, its products/services and their role and responsibilities.

Regular work based assessments/observations carried out by Kent Training & Apprenticeships Tutor Assessor, to determine competency and meet with Awarding Body standards.
