Job Description
Due to the rapid increase of commercial roll-out, Saga Robotics are now looking for new team members to support f on-farm robotic deployment. Saga have developed autonomous UV light treatment which combats powerdry mildew in Strawberry plants, reducing the requirement for fungicides . Successful applicants will be responsible for the delivery of UV treatment on fruit farms in Kent. The robot companions will work closely with our Robotic Deployment team to set up the robots on farm and oversee the treatment schedule. They will be responsible for ensuring the treatment runs smoothly and where possible rapidly fix any issues that may arise. No previous robotic experience is needed as full training will be given.
The UV treatment must be conducted during the hours of darkness so applicants must be willing to work night shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Closely monitor the robots during treatment and troubleshoot basic issues
  • Comply with the company health and safety requirements

Requirements
Candidates do not need any previous experience in robotics (although it would be an advantage) as full training will be given. However, applicants must be willing to work primarily in all weather conditions and possess the following:

  • Good written and verbal communication
  • Experience with RC Vehicles and/or gaming
  • A good mechanical understanding and the ability to use basic hand tools.
  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team
  • Ability to work at night
  • Good time management
  • Valid UK driving license

In addition to the above it would be beneficial for candidates to have some of the following (although not essential):

  • Interest in robotics, technology or agriculture
  • Experience working in agricultural environments
  • Basic programming knowledge
  • Experience with RC Vehicles and/or gaming
  • This post is temporary until November 2021 with a start date in February 2021.
  • Normal working hours will be 28 per week but these hours may vary.

Salary: £10.00 per hour
